Colin Wiseman is an outdoor photographer, writer and editor based in Bellingham, WA. Hailing from Hornby Island, BC, he was first published while earning an MA Sociology from the University of Calgary in the mid-2000s. Although his academic work ran in multiple peer-reviewed journals, his true home was in the mountains. Thus, he relocated stateside following university to pursue an internship with Funny Feelings LLC, makers of The Snowboarder's Journal, The Ski Journal and The Flyfish Journal.

Fifteen years later, Wiseman now serves as Content & Brand Director for FFLLC and regularly contributes to numerous editorial titles worldwide. He's filled in as a photo editor and copy editor for Patagonia and he still works closely with them as a freelance contributor. His work for this iconic and progressive outdoor brand ranges from snowboarding and mountain biking to kids, workwear, sportswear and provisions, photography to videography and copy writing. Other commercial clients and partners who commission and license his work include K2 Sports, The North Face, Nike, DC Snowboarding, REI, Von Zipper, Coal Headwear, Zeal Optics, Black Diamond, MSR, Platypus, Smith Optics, Gnu, Lib Tech, Ride Snowboards, Dakine, Dragon, Spy Optics, Nidecker, One Ball Jay, Mt. Wiseman believes that the best stories in outdoor culture lie as much in the in-between moments as in the peak action.
